Base of Operations: Richmond, VA
Bio:
Formed in the winter of 2001, The SetUp got off to a rocky and slow start. The band began under its original line up only starting with the idea
that they wanted to do something "different" and/or "heavy". They recorded a
6 song EP and a split 7" with Serotonin on Action Driver Records before their line up changed from a four piece to a three piece. I guess "undaunted" would be too strong of a word, so we'll say that stubbornly the band
pressed on touring as a three piece and writing new material. Around the
winter of 2002 David Cisco was recruited at a local college fair and was hired as the
"new guy" (hence forth refered to as "rookie", "cisco", or "shut up freshman"). From that point on things were on the up and up as song writing began to move steadily forward in a direction that everyone could be happy with.
Through tours, and new records the band began to focus their energy to move in the direction that they were all happy with. Always trying to out do themselves they've still never mastered the art of writing a "bio" for a
label website. Maybe that will change.....
